I've been a muslim for almost 30 years now. Yes, it's quite a while
:) But I often see guys who do not really understand what Islam really
is. So I hope my humble definition would clarify things in some minds
out there :)
What Islam is not:
- a racist and violent religion,
- for the hopeless suicidal aspiring serial killers
- anti-freedom, anti-civilization, anti-evolution
What Islam means:
- to worship only one God: Allah. To believe in Him and in his infinite powers,
- to follow Mohammed PBUH, the last messenger of God,
- to believe in all past messengers: Jesus, Mose,Abraham,...
- to stay healthy, to avoid pork and whine,
- to know that everyone has a mission that he should fulfill it, and one has to discover what his mission is in life,
- to give good example for your family, your friends, your coworkers
- to spread peace and love
- to reject all kinds of violence against each other.
Islam is simple. The most important thing is that you have sincere intentions to be good, to feel good, and to do good while your feet are above the ground :)
